Urushi chair, Tokyo
The project originates from the exploration of urushi, the traditional Japanese lacquer, not merely as a decorative element but as a structural component. Layers of fabric bound with structural lacquer can achieve high mechanical performance, transforming this ancient material into a medium for innovation.
From this concept emerges a series of seating pieces, conceived as experimental objects in which structure and material merge, revealing new design possibilities.
